Happy Anniversary Michael Torbay

I just wanted to take a minute wish my good pal Michael Torbay a happy anniversary. Yes, where has the time gone? Has it already been a YEAR since your blog entry Mickle? The answer is yes...yes it has been.

If you think that's just dandy of Mick, drop by his blog and let him know.

Way to go Mickle!

Nausea

If it takes me the rest of my life, I am dedicating myself to a new quest.

One at a time, I want to knock out everyone who appears in an eharmony.com commercial.

I will require a substantial legal fund. Perhaps some kind of benefit concert will be in order... Puke-a-palooza or something like that.

Remember When HipHop Used To Be....

...about something other the rapper himself and/or his belongings?

OH BTW - this is only 1992!

WHY! WHY! - Be patient.

Avril Lavigne - Part III

Man what a rolling boulder this Avril song theft issue is becoming. Adding to Rubinoos and Chantal Kreviazuk is Peaches. Avril is now being accused of 'strongly borrowing' an intro from a song she herself called "one of her top 5 favourite".

Check it out:

Ok...she knows you can't just TAKE something cause you like it right? This is what makes me sick about these candy-pop queens and their handlers. Not only do they have no respect for the craft of songwriting they seem to be just out and out stealing with abandon now. Its disrespectful to fans and song writers alike.

It's like she (they) think this is like some pair of shoes she saw on TV and just 'must have'. While I know it's unlikely, I hope they sue her back into a basement apartment in Napanee.

Brat.

Avril Lavigne Part II

A lot has been written in the popular media recently regarding allegations of plagiarism against Avril Lavigne (see 2 entries below). For those of you who haven't heard the almost laughably compelling evidence here are both songs:

Still not convinced...ok sorry to hear about your deafness. Here's a little hybrid I cut up of both songs:

It's important to know that I did not effect or alter either track to match better...that's just how pathetic a rip off job this is.

Yah, no surprise her management has said they're going to settle out of court.

Avril Lavigne

Can you believe that people are fighting to be associated with the biggest piece of garbage song in recent history?

Avril Sued For "Girlfriend"
Thursday, July 05, 2007

Avril Lavigne is being sued by songwriters who say her hit anthem "Girlfriend” is a knock-off of their song titled "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend". The song by the 1970s group The Rubinoos features the chorus "Hey, hey, you, you, I wanna be your boyfriend," whereas Avril's song is “Hey, hey, you, you, I don't like your girlfriend". Lavigne’s manager Terry McBride says the lawsuit doesn't have merit but concedes he will settle out of court if the case will be too costly to defend.
